Windsor Palace

One Saturday we took a train to Windsor Palace for the day.

If you look closely at these pictures, the girls are wearing the purple crowns :)

Here's Rob carrying both girls. Ruby just about fell to her death after this picture was taken, but Rob caught her just in the nick of time.

A picture of a picture of the palace grounds. They're huge! This is the Queen's current residence most of the time and where she considers her home to be.

Grace is fab to tour with. She loves learning about everything! She listened to every word of the audio tour!

There was a craft room where the girls created clothespin angels.

No pictures were allowed inside, but let me tell you, it was amazing! So beautiful and huge and intricate! There is a hall of knights that is covered with all of the different shields of the knights. Grace also finally got to see a throne room where the Queen still knights new knights. We also got to tour the State Rooms that are still in use by the royal family to meet with dignitaries and famous people.

There is also the most incredible doll house that belonged to Queen Mary.  Here's a photo of it from the website, but it just doesn't do it justice. It takes us an entire room and has everything from a table set with miniature gold plates to a vacuum (the newest invention at the time) to a garage full of miniature cars. There are even miniature paintings by artists of the day. It was so cool!
