Daddy Daughter Dance

The primary at church put on a Daddy Daughter dance for all the girls under 12 a few weekends ago. So Grace and Rob got all dressed up and fancy. Grace chose to eat out at Taco Bell before the big dance. Leading up to the dance, Grace told me over and over again that it was "just for Gracie and Daddy, but not for Ruby and Mama." She felt so special getting a night out on the town with Dad all to herself. They were even out waaaay past curfew until 8:45! Whew, what a night!

The room was all decorated and fancy for the dance.

Not surprisingly Grace just wanted to twirl and spin around and around and around. According to Rob she didn't want to dance, just spin. He was a little dizzy by the end of the night. Luckily some of her other friends who also love to spin around were there and they spun together to give their dads a little break.

Cleaning Heppers

Last weekend we sold Rob's white Honda. He posted it for more money than we thought we could get for it, and we thought that we would keep lowering the price every week until it sold, which would hopefully be before we moved in May. Well, the first day it was listed he got 3 calls on it, one of which bought it over the weekend. Hooray, but boo for having to work out sharing. It's not really a problem I can complain about though. :) Grace loves to get out and do things, and today Rob has the car at school so we were going to be cleaning and just getting stuff done around the house. Somehow this morning I promised Grace that she could clean the stickies off of the chairs and table (I don't remember how this conversation happened, but it was something she really was looking forward to!). So I got my little heppers each a towel and a spray bottle to go for it. After they cleaned the table and chairs, Grace asked if she could clean the mirrors, which she did, and now she is telling me that she is going to clean the windows. I'm sure I'll find a few streaks :) But I sure am grateful for sweet girls who want to help clean. This will definitely be an activity we do more of in the future! :)

Easter

This year for Easter we were in quarantine for the delightful Hand Foot Mouth virus that lasts for.ev.er. So, Saturday during naps, the Easter Bunny brought his loot and hid some eggs in the yard. The girls had a blast running around and finding them. I wasn't sure if Ruby would be too interested, but one of Grace's favorite games of late has been egg hunt, where we hide eggs and she finds them, so Ruby had some practice and knew the drill.

Sunday we had dinner at the Meek's (who also had HFM). Sharing holidays with friends is so much more fun than being alone! Monday evening for FHE we finished up our Easter activities by reading the Easter story from the scriptures and making resurrection rolls. What a great holiday to celebrate the sacrifice that Jesus made for us that we can live again!
