Happy Birthday Benji!

My little buddy turned 3 two weeks ago! He's almost as big as Ruby and the clothes I've been buying for him are size 4, so in my head I kept thinking that he was turning 4. Sloooooow down brain! I don't want this sweet boy to grow up any faster than he already is. He is just the sweetest, most obedient, funny little guy I know!

Ben is really a ham, he loves to make people laugh and once he finds something to say or do that will produce a giggle, he'll do it repeatedly to get a laugh. After Emmi was born, and Rob's mom was visiting, she was taking pictures of the kids and Ben bent over to shake his "bum bum" at Grandma in an effort to get a laugh out of her. She thought he was cute and funny and laughed and took a picture to remember the moment. After that every once in a while he would bend over and shake his "bum bum" at us and say "take a picture of this!" We tried to not encourage such behavior, but it's hard not to giggle a little when he's being funny. Fast forward a few weeks and we were at Rob's work showing off Embree to his co-workers. When we were talking to his old boss (a VP) and another lady Ben decided to bend over and yell "take a picture of this!" We told him to not do that and brushed it off. Not getting the response he had hoped for, he decided to up his game, so he dropped his pants and bent over shaking his diapered bottom in the air saying "take a picture of this!" We'll be working on appropriate humor from now on... :)

Ben is also a great dancer. At this age, the girls would twirl around in circles until they fell over as "dancing" but Benji has some pretty sweet moves. He shakes his groove thing and gets down on the floor and runs his feet in circles. He is very creative in that way. It's really hilarious to watch! At the ward Halloween party he did well on one of the games and he broke out into this hilarious victory dance that stunned everyone with the creativity and exuberance of it!

We started off his special day with a play date with his bestie Dane. They had a bast playing and were super excited for cupcakes after lunch!

The rest of the day progressed as usual. He chose to eat at McDonald's for dinner then we came home for cake and presents.

Ruby had a great time helping Ben open his presents. It kind of stinks for older siblings when the younger ones know how to open presents by themselves and don't need help anymore :)

Grace spent the evening with her new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book

The cake. This year was a Planes themed birthday for Ben. He loves anything that goes and Planes Fire and Rescue is his favorite movie currently.

October

I got a new computer (yay!) but I have been having trouble with downloading pictures onto it (boo!) so here is all of October in one big 'ole post!

We started off the month with some friends at the Pumpkin Patch. It was so bright and hot that day but lots of fun!

Grace had more swimming lessons. She's a fantastic swimmer!

We carved some pumpkins too

Benji wanted to hold Emmi once

Our friends, the Coopers, moved away. Ruby really misses Addison and Brynlee!

For General Conference, I downloaded some doodle notebooks for the girls and I to take notes with. We all had a good time and did a much better job listening while taking notes.
Grace's cute picture and notes.

Ruby did a great job with drawing pictures of each speaker. Here are a few of my favorites (note the double chins on some!):

Grace participated in Camp Rock again. It was really fun this time because a couple of her babysitters were the helpers. Here she is with Emilee

Activity Days girlies! We had a fun witchy activity.

These two melt my heart. They are usually the best of friends!

The vocab parade at school. In lieu of dressing up for Halloween they got to dress up as a vocab word. Grace was a "blizzard."

Our jalapeno plant needed to be harvested and we had so many jalapenos, so we made some jalapeno jelly. Mmmmm!

On Halloween we had dinner and did trick or treating with some of our favorite friends!

That's an October wrap!
