California

We had a ton of fun during the three weeks that we were able to spend with the Bunkers in California.

We started off with Brian and Eila's reception. It was held at the Lassen's beautiful home with lots of delicious food and amazing weather.
My sister Becky and niece Tina made the yummy and beautiful cake.

Rob did a little getting to know you with the bride and groom. Since Brian is a geography guy, we had a map that we made them char their relationship on. It was fun to hear their story again.

Eila's grandfather, aunt and cousin were able to fly in from Sweden for the reception.

Grace and Ruby had a great time dancing and playing with family too.

Our brother John, his wife Sarah and baby Addy even joined in the fun via FaceTime.

All the sisters and some of their kids.

Cute parents after a long and awesome day!

A couple of times we were able to go to the Ventura Harbor.

We got to ride on the carousel (it was hard to get Ruby off!) and play in the sand. It was freezing that day, so we didn't go into the water, but we did go back for more playing in the water on a nicer day.

We also visited the Channel Islands National Park Visitors Center.

We also got to go to the Santa Barbara Zoo on our trip.

The girls were so excited that they got to ride on the train!

We had an awesome time enjoying family and beautiful California. Brian and Eila had internships fairly close to my parents home, so they came and hung out every weekend which was an extra treat!

I still have a lot to post about, namely the California half of our trip and our move to Texas, but I'm large with child and tired and exhausted and it's hard to do it, apparently :) Plus I have a million projects that need to get done before brother gets here that are taking precedence. So for now, here's some random pictures of life recently.

One of the guys from one of the "Chopper" shows on TV made a HP chopper. There's a room where you can take your photo on it. So here we are, little HP chopper family. Tough looking bunch, eh?

I have also reverted to needing a nap every day while Ruby sleeps. Usually Grace plays quietly or watches a show, but the other day when I opened my door I came upon this:
She was sleeping so hard that I just stepped over her and went and got Ruby out of bed. When Ruby was making too much noise, Grace moved herself to the couch and later asked me if I had moved her. She sure is a good sleeper!

Cute silly girlies. I sure do love these two!

The Utah Half of the Trip

Note: Apparently I was super lame at taking pictures while on this trip. For the record, I was exhausted and pregnant and that, my friends, is my flimsy excuse.

I can tell you that there is not much better in the travel experience, than pulling into the driveway of the place you're going to be staying for a while. It was a great feeling to pull into the driveway at Rob's parents house and know that we didn't all have to get in the car for more than a 10 minute drive for 3 whole blessed weeks!

We had a delightful time relaxing and playing with family most of the time. Rob even got to do some work while he was there. Sadly, during the first week, while he was in the parking lot at Temple Square, the van got hit. Now, part of the plan for the trip was to work with Grandpa Gwilliam to put a new bumper on the van and paint it because of an unfortunate birthday run-in with a concrete pillar and the resulting odious crack in it. So, besides it being a bit of a pain, it was a blessing that we were able to have the bumper and side panel professionally replaced by the girl who hit us which saved Rob and Grandpa a lot of work.

We were so happy that we were in Utah for the annual Memorial Day Graduation BBQ. Here's the poster I made to commemorate the occasion. (Instead of one banner for all the grads, this year everyone had their own poster.)

Grace and Lucy had a blast by swinging on the teeter-totter swing pretty much the whole time we were there. Sadly, I don't have a picture of it.

Ruby also enjoyed swinging for much of the time.
Rob enjoyed the volleyball until blocking a particularly nasty spike from a friend that injured his thumb, which, like most volleyball injuries he thought he could shake off if he took a break for a few minutes. But, when we got home and it was still hurting really badly, we headed off to InstaCare where after a few x-rays we found out he'd torn a ligament in his thumb and would have to see an orthopedic specialist and get a cast put on. We did the next day and Rob got a cast, which sadly, I don't have any pictures of (except as an aside in the ones below). He had to keep the cast on the whole time we were in Utah and got it removed the morning we left for California.

While we were in Utah, we bugged Dave and Annette enough to let us help with their house, that we painted a few walls and tore down some wallpaper for them.

One Saturday with nothing to do (besides paint) we headed to Wheeler Farms. We were also babysitting our niece Chloe, who is Ruby's age, so we took the kids to enjoy some animal time.

The best part was feeding the ducks and geese. They were so excited for food, that it made the kids kind of nervous to even hold the food for fear of being attacked. They were pretty good with the kids, but Rob had a goose nibble on his foot.

Ruby was super excited for summertime and spent a lot of time carrying around her swimming apparel and dreaming of the day when her lame parents would actually take her swimming.

The highlight of the trip was a family trip to Park City with all of Rob's siblings and parents and nieces and nephews. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo that a friend owns. It was squishy but super fun! We spent most of the time just hanging out and trying to get the kids naps so they'd not be super cranky.

We did get to go to the Park City museum which is actually really cool and hand-on all about the history of Park City.
They had a pretend dynamite blaster that made a big noise and shook the place. Ruby thought it was awesome. Grace thought it was too loud.

Not quite sure if she wants to do it though...

Grandma got locked up for spoiling the grandkids :)

Here's all the grandkids right now. This is the best picture we could get of all 5 - they're a bit wiggly at this stage.

We had a fantastic 3 weeks in Utah soaking up being with family!

Brian and Eila Get Married

The first real stop on our trip West was in St. George for Brian and Eila's sealing in the temple there. It was a beautiful day and I can safely say that I have never seen my brother so happy. We adore Eila and and are so excited for her to join our family.

Shannon, Adam and Rob having fun with the thorns off a nearby bush while we waited.

 Mr. & Mrs. Bunker

I spy a very happy man behind some beautiful flowers.

Grace had to stay by the most beautiful lady the whole time.
Rob and Adam decorated their car for them. Because they were going straight to California for internships, the car was packed. The guys filled the back seat (what was left) up with balloons, so when Brian kept sending Eila's brother out with luggage to add to the car, Rob had to re-direct him to hide it. Brian was a little bugged that they couldn't just jet away on their honeymoon, and had to stop to re-pack the car first :)

Somehow Grace wheedled her way into having the camera for most of the post-wedding picture taking. I'll blame that for not getting very good pictures.

The best part was the reception. The girls loved to dance, dance, dance, eat and dance!
