{Utah Trip} Grandma Millie's Passing

The day after Mike got home from his mission (Wednesday) we all went to visit Grandma Millie who has been living in a care center the past few months. That day, we were surprised to find that Grandma looked very frail and hardly spoke. She gave the biggest smile to see Mike and the great-grandkids she hadn't seen in a while, but seemed very tired and unwell. She continued to worsen and the hospice nurse said she most likely did not have many days left in this life. Rob, his dad and brothers gave her a priesthood blessing of comfort.

On Sunday evening she passed away with her children around her. The next week we spent trying to help Dave and Annette with any details we could. Her funeral was held on Friday. It was a really nice service and we were so grateful that we were able to be in Utah and with family during this time.

Ruby was fascinated by Grandma in the casket. She kept asking where her feet were because they're covered. Here's Grandpa Dave trying to explain that her feet are just covered. I'm still not sure that she understood :)

Grace loved having some of Grandma Millie's amazing jewelry collection to take home.

Here's Ben with one of Grandpa Bert Carter's pictures. It's autographed to him from a beauty queen. It hung downstairs in their home until Grandpa died, then Grandma Millie took it down (can't say I blame her....). :) No one was quite sure what to do with it, but apparently Ben got a kick out of it!
