Like Mother, Like Daughter

Apparently loving a Lacey is in the genes.

Grace loves to drag her Lacey (Little Lacey) around the house if she can get it out of her crib. She also loves mommy's Lacey when she's cuddling (I wish! more like crawling and exploring) in mommy's bed.

A California Adventure

Last weekend we went to California for my nephew Sean's wedding. We had lots of fun adventures.

Getting ready to go. We had to drive 3 hours to get to Atascadero where the wedding was.

The wedding was beautiful. It was outside overlooking the lake. Mostly it was fun to see family and even meet some new family members.

The Bride and Groom, Sean and Paula Graff. Congrats, guys!

Grace and her cousin Aubrey, who she met for the first time this weekend. They were friends immediately. Aubrey was so nice to Grace all weekend.

My sister Marti and her girls.

Me and my baby.

Auntie Emily feeding Grace some punch. Yeah, I had a lot of laundry to do when we got home. Grace loved it though!

All of our free time this weekend was spent geocaching. Brian got us hooked on our new favorite hobby - treasure hunting with a GPS. Rob was really excited that there's a grown-up legit way to go treasure hunting. We went down to Morro Bay and saw the sights while geocaching. It was such a fun way to sight see and to see un-touristy parts of the area. Since we had to employ our stealth skills we took lots of pictures to distract any Muggles that were around from our true mission.

We had a lovely evening Sunday night before the big run hanging out with family.

The girls. Grace, Kylee and Aubrey had fun hanging out under the table.

Monday was our big family "Fun Run" 5k that Rob and I have been "training" for.
Here's Andrew modeling the shirts "Graff Forced Family Fun Run (the devil is asking what's going on up there? as it's snowing in Hades)...in case you didn't realize Hades froze over on Monday. Graffs (and Bunkers) don't run.
The whole crew ready to run.Ian posing. He thought he had the win in the bag.

And they're off. (That's Ian leading the pack.)

Until...

Rob passed him up and WON the whole race! I am so proud of him! He was awesome.
After we finished, we came back to walk the last people in.

The winner! Whoo hoo!
Rob won a water bottle choc full of cool stuff and a $50 gift card. Any guesses on what that $50 is going to be spent on? (Hint: Rob's new favorite hobby...) A GPS! Fun adventures await us all summer!

I'm just glad that I didn't die. And could actually finish the race.

We had such a fun weekend! Thanks Sean and Paula for giving everyone a great excuse to get together. Thanks Erin for challenging us all and organizing the run. Thanks Stew for sponsoring the prizes (you're welcome to come geocaching with us sometime!).

Busted

A favorite pastime of Grace's is to get into my purse and find the Cheerios container and dump it all over the floor, chew on it, then eat some Cheerios from the ground...I probably shouldn't be letting my baby eat off the floor should I? Not sure if I'm busted or if Grace is.

Uh Oh.

Mom, you seriously let me eat my Cheerios off the floor?

So Long, and Thanks for All the Dirt?

We had a delightful time with Brian at our little family dinner last night. We left with happy tummys and lots of dirt...
...Grace's feet after 1 hour of crawling around on the carpet at his apartment. The foot on the right has been washed for comparison and the picture does not even do it justice...yikes! Time to clean? I think so! Dinner really was tasty though!

How Could You Not Love Them?

Aren't they sweet?

A Day of Activities That Came With Their Own Shirts - Part II

After we Ran for the Cure we came home, Grace got a nap and we were off to our next event. Mommy and Me at Hogle Zoo. This was Grace's first trip to the zoo and I'm pretty sure that she could care less, but Rob and I really enjoyed it!

Peacock

The porcupines were cuddling. How sweet (and prickly!).

This little guy came to see Grace.

Notice Amanda's cool zebra belt that matches the zebra behind her....

Here's a picture of Grace and I in front of the penguins. Here is a picture of the penguins:

A Day of Activities That Came With Their Own Shirts - Part I

This morning we started off our day Running for the Cure (for breast cancer). It was both fun to be part of such a huge event for a great cause and sobering to see how many (young!) survivors there were walking. My Aunt Janis and Uncle Gordie and cousin Shannon have done this before and this year they invited us to join them because my mama is a survivor. I teared up a few times and laughed a lot. Here are some of the highlights from the event. People have such funny t-shirts with their team names on them!
The group (minus Shannon who was playing photographer - thanks Shannon!)

Gracie ran in Celebration of her Grandma

I ran in Celebration of my Mama and Rob ran in Celebration of his mother-in-law...you get the point

Grace spent much of the race chewing on the beautiful pink cure bracelet Shannon made for her. Mmmm...

Then Rob decided Gracie could take care of herself

Then mommy saved her and she was happy and grateful

Here are some of our favorite people and shirts...

Bowl for the cure

This group was hilarious in their bras..."show your support!" You can't really see it, but that guy was keeping his water bottle and other odds and ends in his bra.

Wieners for the cure :) Really? A front pack for dogs and strollers for dogs?

Save the Ta Ta's

The Geeks for the Cure ran with... I heart healthy hooters

Tu Tu's for Ta Ta's (and Rob was concerned that he'd be the only guy in a semi-girly shirt...)

Save Second Base

Our time...we walked. I'm just glad that in 2 weeks at our next 5K we will definitely be able to beat our best time. So what if it's our only time and we walked. Slowly. I still feel good about myself.

My cute family.

Thanks for inviting us Shannon and Janis!
